Lauren was born in Calgary and has lived here all her life. She received both her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and her J.D. from the University of Calgary, and was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 2018. Lauren has exclusively practiced family law, and is experienced in child protection matters.
Lauren takes a direct, practical, and compassionate approach to resolving family law issues. She works towards crafting solutions that will both settle the immediate issues, and assist in achieving her clients’ longer term goals, without inserting unnecessary conflict into their lives. She believes that using alternative dispute resolution often produces effective results that allow families to move forwards. Lauren also understands that some matters will require the intervention of the Courts, and she is a strong advocate who has appeared in the Provincial Court and Court of Queen’s Bench in Alberta.
While attending U of C Law, Lauren volunteered with a wide variety of projects and associations. She participated in the Pro Bono Student’s Canada Family Law Project, and was a caseworker with Student Legal Assistance. She was also a founding member of the Diversity in Law Society, and was the Managing Editor of the law school student newspaper, the Moot Times.
In her spare time, Lauren enjoys snowboarding, captaining an ultimate frisbee team, and giving ugly homemade crafts to her friends and family.
